Rosemary Gladstar & Tish Streeten

The island of Kythera was once home to Juliette de Bairacli Levy (1912-2009), a celebrated herbalist, traveler, and writer who influenced herbalists and veterinarians around the world. This herbal medicine tour will honor Juliette’s memory and bring together people who wish to learn more about her herbal journey and inspirational life.

We are thrilled to have joining us world-renowned herbalist and educator, Rosemary Gladstar, and celebrated film director of Juliette of the Herbs, Tish Streeten. Rosemary and Tish will share stories about Juliette as we explore Kythera and connect with the treasured memories it holds.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us in celebration of our teachers and their legacy in the herbal community!

KYTHERA

The island of Kythera is famed as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love. The island is located near the southern part of the Peloponnese and offers scenic beaches, green landscapes, and Medieval architecture. From Athens, the island is accessible by plane (50 minutes) or by ferry boat (6.5 hours).

HOW TO GET TO KYTHERA

From outside of Greece, arrange your flight to arrive at Athens International Airport (ATH). From Athens, there are 2 options to get to Kythera island:

  • Flight from ATH to Kythera (Kithera) with Aegean / Olympic Airways. There is one flight per day, non-stop. Choose these flights:

    Sunday, June 23, 2:10pm - 3:05pm (non-stop / 55 min)

    Saturday, June 29, 3:30pm - 4:20pm (non-stop / 55 min)

  • Ferry from Piraeus port in Athens to Kythera (Kithera KTH). The ferry times have not yet been posted for June. Last year's time was 10am departure with arrival at 4:30pm. SeaJets is a useful site to purchase ferry tickets.

Whether you arrive on the island by plane or ferry, we will be there with a van service to pick up everyone and drive you to the hotel.
